Questions and Answers

Q: I am not a project manager. I work as an engineer/architect. Is it a good way to obtain the CAPM certification?
A: Of course. If you really seriously think about your career, good choice is one project management certification (like CAMP) and ITIL Foundation. It will allow you to better understand operations and projects in each organization (especially with the biggest companies). You can also read an interview with Emilio Da Silva who shares thoughts about this topic.

Q: What are differences between the CAPM and PMP certifications?
A: Although, both exams are based on A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge: (Pmbok Guide), CAPM is an easier exam and questions are related to process inputs, tools and outputs. The PMP exam is more tricky and you must choose the best option based on your understanding of PMBOK guide.

Q: Can I check somewhere if I really have an actual CAPM or PMP certification?
A: Yes, PMI has on the official website a tool to check that. You must type only the last name.

Q: How can I become a PMI member?
A: Just fill out the form and pay a fee. Here you can find more information about membership benefits.
