Certified Wireless Security Professional – CWSP

by Mirek Burnejko

CWSPCertified Wireless Security Professional – CWSP is a wireless certification from CWNP that focuses on security subjects in the Wi-Fi world.

As we can read on the official CWNP website, average salary for people with the CWSP certification grows year by year.

People with neutral security skills, not focused on a vendor (Cisco, Aruba, Aerohive), are important in the biggest organizations and companies that provide wireless services for their clients.

As we can see in our examples of jobs opportunities below, the number of required people with the CWSP certifications is still high.

Questions and Answers

Q: Is there any other good competition to CWSP on the market?
A: CWSP is a leader for wireless/security certifications. Although, you can find two certifications more concentrated on gray-hat aspects of wireless security, SecurityTube WiFi Security Expert (SWSE) and Offensive Security Wireless Professional (OSWP). These certifications give you amazing value when you earn them with CWSP (which gives you vendor-neutral theory about security in a WiFi environment).
