It is a good step before a MCTS certification, for all students who starts their career.

The MTA Networking Fundamentals certification is recommended by Microsoft as an entry level cert on the road to network administrator, server administrator, security administrator and desktop support. (Here you can find the certification path)

What Exams You Must Pass to Become a MTA Networking Fundamentals Certified

You must pass only one exam, Microsoft Networking Fundamentals (98-366).
You do not need to pass any other exams. There are no prerequisite training requirements for the MTA certification.

Format of the MTA Networking Fundamentals Exam

You have 50 minutes to answer 30-50 questions. If you are not a native English speaker, you teacher can add you additional 50 minutes. You will receive results after the exam.

Where You Can Pass the MTA Networking Fundamentals Exam

MTA certification exams are currently offered only to students, faculty, and staff of academic institutions via the Certiport system. If your school is set up as a Certiport testing center and signed up to administer MTA certification exams, your teacher or a proctor can deliver your exam to you.

How Much Does the MTA Networking Fundamentals Exam Cost

The price depends on a country and a learning facility. It can be free or can cost $150.
